WYP Heroes: Meet Lisa Novick

Theodore Payne Foundation Director of Outreach, Lisa Novick, is one of The Wild Yards Project's Co-founders. And, as both an early pioneer in the native gardening movement and a powerful voice for education and inspiration (check out her YouTube page "L.I.F.E. Films"), she's one of our true heroes.

“The next renaissance of human culture will be the reconstruction of our natural world in our cities. Plants will be at the center of it all.”

-Thomas Rainer

The Wild Yards Project is a place to gather and grow the knowledge base that will help us all learn the best practices for making our own yards wild.  Click here to learn more.  Looking for a place to start?  Check out the books below.

“We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.”

-Aldo Leopold

The Wild Yards Project is YOU. Our goal is to give you the inspiration and resources to re-wild your yard and to help others around you to do the same. The inspiration producing is global, but all native plant projects must be local to succeed. So, please check out our EVENTS page here for our upcoming projects here in Los Angeles, and follow us on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM to get connected, share information and to learn. If you’re from out of state, please visit our RESOURCES page for a growing list of native plant information, state by state. And, finally, feel free to contact us if you would like to host an event in your neighborhood, or have experience or information that we can add to our site. After all, this is a global movement that relies on regional know how to succeed. Help us help you grow this extraordinary community!
